A publisher wouldn’t be responsible for the college magazine; it would be an in house publication by the college for the college.
My college magazine will try send out a nice positive vibe and message.
It will try and get student to work harder and more, it would also have this fun enjoying feeling to it. They will be a few students inputting to the magazine so it’s not going to be the same through and have different people personalities.
The target audience will be for all the students of the college, it will cover everything for everyone, it won’t leave anyone and make them feel unwanted or left out by the college.
The masthead will be a large stand out title, it will be nice and appealing for the college student, closer near the masthead will be the college logo. This will let the students know it’s there college, as there used to their own college logo.
Throughout my college booklet it will have a bright colour scheme, with a clear house-style, this will be persistent, and not cause any confusion of different colours everywhere. It will include images on the content page/front cover; these images will have page number with them to show the contents and meaning of these images. The font throughout my college magazine will be century gothic.
My front cover image will be a student attending the college, in a medium close up shot, showing only the shoulders and head. This is to show the model emotions which will be a happy expression, so it’s nice and appealing to the viewer. My student will be stood holding his folders, smiling at the camera or maybe even stood looking directly at the camera with lots of things happening around in the background to make him/her the centre of attention; this will link with the college image and representation of the goings on in the college. The student looking into the camera makes you look like your involved in the image and your right there with them; it could make you think this could be you in the same spot as the model. This creates a happy vibe and atmosphere around the college grounds.

The contents pages will have the page numbers spread around to have this fun vibe to it, but it will also include these thumbnail images to show other articles, like main stories or appealing stories. They will also have captions to read a short brief of these stories; hopefully they would appeal to people who don’t attend the college as well, which may bring them more drawn in to this college.
I would use a barcode maybe if I was going to sell this to people outside the college to bring some profit in for the college, but if I was only going to use it in the college then I would maybe do it for free as it would maybe get out to more student cause it wouldn’t really appeal to student to buy a college magazine.
A big factor I would like to use to bring in student is do a big competition on the front cover, I think this would really appeal, a chance to win something special.
My target audience would be college ages really, 16-19. I would try including in my magazine, things like home help, or like a smoking/drinking problems. Even sexual help if needed, someone to help the students of the college. I’d try include common teenage info like gigs, nights out and local festivals.
